PMR results and so much more..

Assalamualaikum.. Hi again.. Yeah, I guess it's kinda late to tell this story but I'll just write about it. As you know, on 23rd December, my PMR results came out. And alhamdulillah, I got 9A's as well as my friends.. :) That day was so chaotic as students, parents and teachers were everywhere. And the most important thing is that, that day was the last time for me to meet Atifa before she fly to Cairo. Enough about that.. As I said in previous post, my grandma was staying at my house that day. So, after receive my result, my family and I went to Bukit Raja and had lunch at Johnny's. Yeah, it's fun :)

That night, me (as well as my grandma and brothers) slept over at my uncle's house, for two days actually. That night, me and my cousins played game of Life. Yeah, we sure did enjoy ourselves. It's crazy, I had the second worst college career, but then I lost my job and given a much worse career. Plus, I got 4 kids. Well, we had so much fun. The next day, we play foosball and PS2. It's my first time actually, I mean foosball. I kinda good at it.. haha:) We also play with their cats. The cats are so cute. Their names are Kopi, Latte, Dolly JJ (Jr. Jr.) and the other one I forgot. But, my favourite will always be Latte :) That night, we went to play bowling. Again, it's my first time, I play kinda bad, but I beat my cousin Yani :D I'm quite surprised that I enjoyed myself very much that time.

The next day, on Saturday, my cousin's family held a some sort of party/family gathering. Yeah, many of my relatives came. It's fun :) That evening, me, my grandma and brothers sets off to Melaka, my aunt's house. That night, we ride a boat, at River Cruise Bandar Melaka. The scenes is so beautiful with the lightings and the murals.. After that, we had dinner at Naiman restaurant. You should go there because the food is so delicious :)

On Sunday, my uncle brought me and my brothers to Planetarium and cinema. That Planetarium is okay. I learnt a few things from there. And then, we went to watch Narnia. Yeah, it's fun. That evening, my mom took us home :) Finally, home sweet home...

On the very next day, my brothers and I went to Bukit Tinggi to watch movies, again :) not one, but two movies. The first one is Tron Legacy. I watched it before, but my brother want to watch it as there is no cinema at Kelantan. The next one is Gulliver's Travels. That movie is very interesting and hilarious. I think you should watch it. Seriously :)
Well, I guess that's all for now. I hope this post doesn't bore you..
See you in next post.. Salam :)

School holidays !!!

Assalamualaikum.. Yeah, it's been a long time I haven't updated my blog.. well, I'm quite busy enjoying my hoiday ;) Em.. where to start.. Ok, during this school holiday I just went to my kampung of course.. I really love it there.. The best thing is that I watched movies every night with my brothers.. such as, The Karate Kid, Sherlock Holmes, Vampire Sucks, Prince of Persia and others.. It's been so much fun ;)) next, the food that I ate there.. seriously, my grandma just serve my favorite food like gulai darat, tempoyak udang, sambal tumis sotong, tempoyak ikan patin and many more.. yeah, it's ok for you be jealous of me.. haha;) and of course, my grandaunt bought a pot of laksa specially for me..

The next big thing that happen during this holiday is my primary school- Sri Pintar reunion. Twice actually.. The first one only joined by girls cause it was on Friday.. We went to Sunway Pyramid, watch Harry Potter(really great movie, by the way) and eat lunch at Subway.. It's fun.. I enjoyed it very much:) The second one actually held yesterday.. We went to Bukit Raja (to save budget ;p) and watched Tron Legacy.. This time, the guys joined in.. especially Amierul.. Before this, I mean after UPSR, he had to move to Indonesia... So, he came back from there just a few days before the reunion.. wasn't that just amazing?? Besides, we also throw this gathering as reunion/farewell party for Atifa.. She had to move to Egypt on the 25th Dec.. Yeah, it's kind of sad, but we decide to just have fun at that time.. For lunch, we ate at Pizza Hut.. I have to admit, it's a bit expensive.. But, thanks to the hero of the day, Iltizam and Atifa for paying the bill :) (the guys also pitch in)..

The last but not least, actually the most important is that the PMR result will be announced on 23rd Dec.. Yeah, it's like less than a week now.. Listen to this, on that day, my grandma will stay at my house at that time ( for family gathering).. what a coincidence -_- Plus, my uncle will throw a some sort of majlis kesyukuran on 25th Dec.. All my family members will be there for sure.. They surely will ask me about my result.. What a GREAT FEELING (sarcastic)-_-
Ok, that's all for now.. Please pray for me and my friends that all of us got GREAT results:)
See you in next post.. Assalamualaikum :))

Year-end party...

Assalamualaikum.. Hi again.. Em, this party is almost over a week already. But, I just want to tell a little bit about it. First of all, the party (of form 3 students) was combined together, to save time and easier to conduct. Of course, I think that the idea sucks. In the end, it turn out to be so much fun;) The main dish is sponsored by one of form 3 student's parents actually. It was nasi beriyani, deliceous one indeed.. Other students just contribute side dishes.. Besides, Ckg Effendy also prepared a dish for this party. It was some kind of gravy or something like that. It is so deliceous and at some point, it will taste exactly the same as the KFC 'sauce' for it's mashed potato;) And, other things just went smoothly.. Yeah, it's fun but somehow we felt kind of sad as it is the last day of school..
Well, I guess that's all I can write for now.
Here, I attached a slide show of pictures of the event.. Hope you enjoy it!!
See you in next post.. Salam;)

Dato' Dr. A. Samad Said...

Assalamualaikum.... Hi again.. Wow, it's been crazy this last couple of weeks. There were too much programs. They were not boring, very much fun actually. But, our schedule is packed. Plus, my school is closing next Tuesday for this year. My class didn't have the chance to throw our year-end-party or farewell-party yet. We plan to do it o the very last day of school, which is Monday.

Oh, sorry.. I've drifted from my main topic. Well, this week is the week for 'Kem Membaca 1 Malaysia' in my school. So, there are many activities prepared, especially for form 3 students. On Monday, we had some sort of seminar for writing literature. My school invited En. Uthaya Sankar SB to teach us that day. He's actually an Indian, which makes it pretty irony. We learnt a lot from him, he's such a good teacher. I really admire him. On Wednesday, today actually, my school invited 'sasterawan negara', Dato' Dr. A. Samad Said. Yeah, it's so exciting. I just can't believe he's right there on the stage of my school's hall. It's actually a dialog session between 'Pak Samad' and again, En. Uthaya Sankar SB. 'Pak Samad' shares experiences and precious thoughts of his. The most interesting part of the session is when the audiences (teachers and students) had a chance to ask questions to 'Pak Samad'. And, they will receive En. Uthaya's book entitled Rudra Avatara and also have a chance to take pictures with 'Pak Samad'. PLUS, the picture will be published in Sinar Harian. At first, only a couple of students have the guts to do just that. Later on, many students competing with each other to ask questions, as the time is running out. The funniest question is from Ustaz Yahya. Many people ask questions regarding 'Pak Samad's view about the literature nowadays and how to nurture it in teenagers. But, Ustaz Yahya ask for tips from 'Pak Samad' in how to stay young and healthy. The hall just roar with laughter. Though, I really impressed with 'Pak Samad'. In the age of 75, he still got great strength. The session ends with a poem performed by 'Pak Samad' himself. Yeah, it's such an unbelievable and unforgettable experience;)
Well, that's all for now. Hope you enjoy reading my post.

Langkawi !!!

Assalamualaikum.. Wow, it's been so long since I've updated my blog. Well, I was trying to focus to my PMR exam. It's over now (hooray!!!). Erm, actually I want to tell you about my trip to Langkawi. It's a trip for PMR students only with the cooperation of Keretaapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB). Me and most of my close friends joined the trip. We went there by train, bus(es) and ferry. The trip took place from 16th-20th October, right after the end of PMR exam. On the 16th, at about 6.45pm, we gathered at KL Sentral. Most of us went there by the comuter except me and 6 others. The train head off to Arau at 9.00pm. Most of my friends were too excited as that was their first time to travel by train. There were two tour guides to guide us along the whole trip which are the people of KTMB. They were En. Anuar and En. Hilmi. Me and my friends called En. Hilmi as En. Wasim which means 'handsome' in arabic ;) Well, back to the story, most of my friends couldn't sleep well as it IS their first time. We all got up early at 5.00 am. After 7.30 something, all of us ate breakfast in bed, provided by KTMB. It was so much fun. After arrived at Arau, we took a bus and a ferry to go to Langkawi Island. All of us stay at a hotel named Nadia's Inn. There were 3 students for each room which is conjoined with another room. Me and my 6 friends took two rooms which were conjoined with each other. That makes it, 7 people in two rooms. After getting enough rest, we went to Pantai Cenang. There, we played 'bola beracun' and had a great swim. Some of us including Ustazah Norazura and Cikgu Effendy took a ride on a banana boat. At night, En. Anuar and En. Wasim took us to the shops near our hotel. We didn't buy anything but 'maggie' and junk foods as we are going to shop at Pekan Kuah which is much, much cheaper. The best thing is, Cikgu Effendy treat each one of us Big Apple donuts. The shop was closed right after Cikgu Effendy bought all the donuts there ;)

The next day, we took a ride on a bus with a tour guide, Mr. Lim. He is so friendly and we learnt a lot from him.. We went to Gedung Batik Jawa, Kilang Gamat, Beras Terbakar and Makam Mahsuri. At Makam Mahsuri, we had a competition 'Ekspedisi Menjejaki Mahsuri" which was prepared by me and Atifa. It was kind of chaotic as the information that me and Atifa got from the internet didn't match the information at the museum. But, it turned out to be just fine. After that, we went to Galeri Mahathir and Idaman Suri, the right place to shop for plates, dishes and all that. I got to admit, the teachers shop much, much more than the students ;) Next, we visit Haji Ismail Group store at Pekan Kuah. It was like chocolate heaven there. There were bunch of chocolates there sold at a low price. After spending hours there, we went to Dataran Lang and went home. At night, me, Atifa and Ustazah Norazura went shopping for the winners of the competition at Makam Mahsuri. It took like forever to find the right gifts for them. After that, me and my 'room mates' throw a small party. We just ate maggie and rocky(s).

On the last day, we went to Laman Padi BY FOOT. It was very tiring. After that, we rushed to our hotel and packed our stuff. At 12.00 noon, we checked out of the hotel. And then, we took a ferry and another bus to Arau. It was a very exhausting and tiring ride as we have to follow the schedule. We arrived VERY early at the train station. After a very long wait, the train finally arrived. The experience of getting on the train was the best adventure of the trip. Okay, the train stop quite far from the platform. So, all of us had to go through slippery and rocky path to get to the train. To make it worse, the door is too high. We had to throw our bag(s) and push ourselves up into the train. Afraid of not being able to get into the train on time and left there, all of us rushed ourselves. It was very, very chaotic. After all of us settled down at our 'bunk', En. Wasim told us that actually, the train won't get off until all of the passengers safely get on the train. We felt pretty dumb at first, but, yeah.. we had a great laugh ;) That night, we had nasi tomato for dinner in bed.. again, prepared by KTMB. The biggest joke that night is Zafri. At first, I saw him and Aizad wearing 'kain sarong'. Well, I didn't think it's weird as they want to perform solat. (to be honest, it's a little bit weird.. but I admire their spirit) I didn't know why, but, he didn't take off that 'sarong', wear it all night, and freely went back and forth along the 'koc'. Yeah, there's a picture of him, but I'll show you later. Well, we arrived at KL Sentral at about 5.45am. The trip ended and all of us said goodbye to En. Anuar and En. Wasim. In conclusion, we had a very, very enjoyable and memorable trip. This thanks to Ustazah Norazura, Cik @ Auntie Yatie, Cikgu Jakiah, Cikgu Norriah, Cikgu Effendy, Mr. Lim, En. Ibrahim (the bus driver), En. Hilmi 'Wasim' ;) and most importantly En. Anuar. This trip won't be as much fun without his well-planned planning.
Well, that's all for today...
I hope you enjoy my post..

The pros and cons of Soy Milk...

Assalamualaikum...Hi again.. Em, today I want to share some information regarding the pros and cons of Soy Milk. Actually, I don't do all the searches, I just copy it from sites I've visited. It turned out that it has some goodness but the consequences is too much. I guess it is best if we just stop drink it ??? Sorry, I'm not sure myself. It's up to you to decide what's best for yourself. So, here's the facts:

1) Soya bean drinks are best consumed on hot sunny days when the sun is strong. The soya milk will give lots of nutrients to the body as the body is able to absorb the protein well. However, avoid the drink when the weather is cloudy or raining.. Taking the drink in those weather, the body will not be able to take in the protein and will result in a disease called 'GOUT' or 'high acidic urine' due to the high protein residue in the body, after a long run. This disease will cause pain to your knee joints and it will only be in control when you control your food intake of proteins and medication. The pain is unbearable and usually you will have no idea what you have taken to cause the pain. Food like soya beans, anchovies, broccoli, spinach, peanuts, & n esp animal organs ( i.e. pork liver) etc will have to be avoided to prevent the pain from attacking.

2) Benefits:
Soy has become popular because of the many benefits it has in reducing chronic illness. Soy can help reduce the effects of heart disease, and lower bad cholesterol and triglycerides. These are important items in controlling heart disease and preventing heart attack and stroke. In addition to its benefits to your heart, many soy products are a rich calcium source. It is also used in treating menopause symptoms. Soy has also been shown to assist in the prevention of prostate cancer.

3) Disadvantages
Many of the benefits of soy have come under scrutiny. The American Heart Association is waiting for more research to be done to verify the benefits of soy in heart health. In addition, there are reproductive issues in children who are raised on soy formula and use many soy products early in life. This includes lower testosterone, lower sperm counts and infertility in girls. Additionally, soy may increase the risk of breast cancer in women by adding high levels of estrogen. There are suggestions that several learning disabilities are the result of high manganese levels in soy products during child brain development.

So my friend, pass this to your family, relatives and friends to keep an alert on the pros and cons of soya bean milk and when it is to be taken and to be avoided....

Is coffee good or bad for you ???

Assalamualaikum... Hi again.. Well, I just want to share some information about coffee. Em, actually I've been arguing with my friend, Atifa about this subject for a few days now. I said that coffee is good while Atifa don't. And, today, I've decided to search on it. The verdict is........ No winner. It turned out that coffee IS good for us, but it also comes with some consequences. So, here it goes:

Coffee Pros

  • 1. Antioxidants. Coffee is rich in antioxidants like chlorogenic acid and melanoidins. Antioxidants help prevent oxidation, a process that causes damage to cells and contributes to aging.
  • 2. Parkinson's disease. Regular coffee drinking reduces the risk of Parkinson's disease. A number of studies [1],[2] have demonstrated that people who drink coffee on a regular basis are significantly less likely to develop Parkinson's disease.
  • 3. Diabetes. Coffee drinking has the potential to protect against the development of type 2 diabetes. A prospective study[3] as part of the US Nurses Health Study found that moderate consumption of both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee may lower the risk of type 2 diabetes in younger and middle aged women.
  • 4. Liver cirrhosis. Coffee drinking may protect against liver cirrhosis, especially alcoholic cirrhosis.
  • 5. Gallstones. There is some evidence [4] that coffee drinking may be protective against gallstone formation in both men and women.
  • 6. Kidney stones. Coffee consumption lowers the risk of kidney stones formation. Coffee increases the urine volume, preventing the crystallization of calcium oxalate, the most common component of kidney stones.
  • 7. Improved mental performance. Caffeine in coffee is a well-known stimulant. Coffee promotes alertness, attention and wakefulness. The cup of coffee can also increase information processing.
  • 8. Alzheimer's disease. Regular coffee drinking may help to protect against Alzheimer's disease. Recent study [5] in mice showed that caffeine equivalent to 5 cups of coffee per day reduced the build up of destructive plaques in the brain.
  • 9. Asthma. Caffeine in coffee is related to theophylline, an old asthma medication. Caffeine can open airways and improve asthma symptoms.
  • 10. Caffeine safety. In 1958, caffeine was placed on the Food and Drug Administration's list as generally recognized as safe.

Coffee Cons

  • 1. Heart disease. This is somewhat controversial. Most prospective cohort studies haven't found that coffee consumption is associated with significantly increased risk of cardiovascular disease.

On one hand, diterpenes cafestol and kahweol present in unfiltered coffee and caffeine each appear to increase risk of coronary heart disease. High quality studies [6] have confirmed the cholesterol-raising effect of diterpenes. Also, coffee consumption is associated with an increase of plasma homocysteine, a risk factor for coronary heart disease.

On the other hand, a lower risk of heart disease among moderate coffee drinkers might be due to antioxidants found in coffee.

  • 2. Cholesterol. Heavy consumption of boiled coffee elevates blood total and LDL ("bad") cholesterol levels [7]. Unfiltered coffee contains two cholesterol-raising compounds cafestol and kahweol.
  • 3. Blood vessels. Coffee negatively affects the blood vessel tone and function.
  • 4. Heart rhythm disturbances. Coffee can cause rapid or irregular heartbeats (cardiac arrhythmias).
  • 5. Blood pressure. Although coffee drinking is not a significant risk factor for hypertension, it produces unfavorable effects on blood pressure [8] and people prone to hypertension may be more susceptible. Recent Italian study found that coffee drinking can slightly increase the risk for development of sustained hypertension in people with elevated blood pressure.
  • 6. Osteoporosis. Coffee intake may induce an extra urinary excretion of calcium. Heavy coffee consumption (600 ml or more) can modestly increase the risk of osteoporosis, especially in women with a low calcium intake [9].
  • 7. Heartburn. A cup of coffee can trigger the heartburn.
  • 8. Sleep. Most are aware of the stimulatory effects of caffeine. High amounts of caffeine taken before going to sleep can cause difficulty falling asleep, tendency to be awakened more readily by sudden noises, and a decreased quality of sleep. However, some people can drink coffee and fall right asleep.
  • 9. Dehydration. The caffeine in coffee is a mild diuretic and can increase urine excretion. This effect may be easily neutralized by drinking an extra glass of water.
  • 10. Dependence. Although "generally recognized as safe" by the FDA, caffeine is still a drug, a mild central nervous system stimulant, and it produces dependence. Caffeine withdrawal is a real syndrome. You may get a few days of headache and irritability if you choose to quit drinking coffee, however, it is relatively easy to break this habit, and most people are not addicted to caffeine.

School Holidays !!!

Assalamualaikum... Hi again... Wow, it's been a long time since I've updated my blog. Well, I just want to share my holiday experience. Nothing much, but I enjoy myself very much. On the very first Saturday we (my family and I) celebrated my parents' 18th anniversary. We went to eat lunch at some nice restaurant. And then, we went to Genting Highlands. It's actually to accompany my dad. He had to give some talk there. Anyway, we rode the cable car (of course). But, instead of playing with those rides up there, we watched Shrek Forever After. Yeah, it's fun. Actually, my mother was not so keen to watch that movie in the first place, but in the end she admit that she enjoy it very much. On Thursday, we went to my mom's kampung at Pasir Mas, Kelantan. Yeah, I think I gain some weight because my grandma kept serving my favourite dishes like Gulai Darat, Udang Tempoyak, Ayam Merah and my grandaunt also order a pot of Laksa Penang from her friend because she knows that I like it very much. Moreover, the fruits like rambutan, salak and duku at the backyard of grandma's house started to ripen. Oh, just thinking of it can make me smile. Besides that, I also getting better at eating 'etak' (sorry, I don't know how to spell it). Yeah, it takes years of practice :)
Well, maybe that's all for now. I hope you enjoy your holiday as much as I am.
Bye.. Assalamualaikum...

P/S : Don't forget to watch FIFA World Cup. German and Argentina RULES!!!

Life : Talking about expectations...

Assalamualaikum... Hi again... Em, I just want to share my experience this week. It's kind of havoc than usual. Well, let me start from the beginning. My week started well. I thought nothing can ruin it. But, I was wrong. While I was having my lunch on Monday, Atifa told a very bad news. She told me that one of my primary school teacher is having a chronic disease, kidney failure. You see, I'm very attached with my primary school teacher, that's why I'm very concern about her (that teacher). Back to the story, I was very shocked with the news. I don't even have the will to learn that day. Can you imagine, she's only 31 years old. After about 24 hours non-stop thinking about her, I decided to contact her (through sms). It turned out that she's not having kidney failure, but a disease called SLE. It's still a dangerous disease but not as bad as kidney failure. It does affects her kidney (a little bit), but only for awhile. The next thing I know is that I'm so happy. Not because she got disease, don't get me wrong. I'm just very thankful that it's not kidney failure. (May Allah show her the way to cure her disease. Amin)

So, the moral of the story is, "Expect The Worst". My principle is as long as you expect the worst, you can face everything in your life. You see, when you expect the worst, you will be more prepared to face the problem. Besides, you will think that the real problem is not that bad after all, when you know the worst thing that can happen. Well, that's only my point of view. You may not agree with it, but that's the way I'll run my life.

Maybe that's all for now. I hope you're not bored with my post.
Bye, Assalamualaikum...

My confession about BFF

Assalamualaikum ... Hi again... Well, actually I don't have any BFF. I have good friends, but no best friend.

So, why do I want to talk about BFF as I don't have any. Em, I want to share one of my secrets. Actually, I don't have much friends either because I'm more comfortable being with someone who are older or younger than me. When I'm in standard 6, I'm very close to this particular teacher, Muallimah Mahsitah. She don't teach me actually. She's just a new teacher in my school.

We just started as strangers. The next thing I know we start talking each time we met. After I got her phone number,we spent about 10 to 15 minutes for EACH phone call. I call her once a week I think. Can you imagine how much I use my phone credit??? I'm not even sure what do we talk about till it takes that much time. It is pretty ridiculous because we bumped into each other almost everyday.

Em, my favourite conversation with her is when I'm in form 1. Just thinking about it can make me smile. Well, one of her room mate move out to further her studies. I was asking her "Tak rindu ke?" I mean her room mate. But, her answer is "Mestilah. Sunyi kamu takde". Yeah, she mistook it. When I explain to her what I really meant, she quickly change the subject. It's kind of funny, but that's the best. I'll never forget it.

But, since I go to secondary school, I'm kind of afraid to call her? Maybe I'm just not ready to face the fact IF she already forgot about me. Well, I kind of miss her. Maybe just our talk. I always want to call her, but something just hold me back. Every time I'm tempted call her, I always remind myself what a happy life she's going through. I just can't disturb her life. I'M JUST HER STUDENT. Yeah, it's kind of sad. But, look at the bright side. Now, she's married and already gifted with one boy. I'm so happy for her.

Well, maybe that's all for now...
I hope this post doesn't bore you
Bye, Assalamualaikum :)

Perkampungan Ilmu

Assalamualaikum... Hi... Happy Holiday !!! Em, I just want to talk about this program called Perkampungan Ilmu at my school for form 3, form 4 and form 5 students. It was held from last Friday at 3 pm until 4 pm today (Sunday). It is kind of fun, but I'm a little bit tired. Well, that program start with a humiliation for me. Ok, we were supposed to wear school uniform for the Friday evening session. I'm not informed earlier and it is kind of a last minute call. So, I wear baju kurung that evening. Can you imagine that ??? I'm the one in form 3 that doesn't wear school uniform. Yeah, it is very embarrassing. Everyone just like teasing me that evening. Well, enough about that. After that, we perform solat asar, refresh ourselves, eat dinner and perform solat maghrib and isyak. What I like the most about that day is kuliah maghrib by Ustaz Kamal. Many students think that he is a very boring and strict teacher, but I think he just fine and he made that kuliah maghrib so interesting. That day ended at 10.30 pm. The next day started at 8.30 am I guess. It was supposed to start at 8 but the 'penceramah' is a little bit late. That session is one of the best. She trained us to do something that we hate to do, basic grammar and essay writing. And then, that day went on just like the day before. Today also goes on like the days before. But, in Geography session, Cikgu Nizam taught us about the world map. It was kind of relaxing after the non-stop learning for about two days. I guess that's all for now. I'm sorry if this post bored you (as always).
Happy Holiday!!!

New year, new experience...

Assalamualaikum.. Hi again... Urgh, I've been very busy this year, as I'm in form 3. And, its only the first month of the year. There's never been a day without a homework. Well, I guess it's for our own good. Em, let's see what's new.... Well, I got new classmates and teachers, it's fun. So far, my favourite class is Science and believe it or not, Sivik. I mean, Teacher Azizi is a great science teacher. I learn many interesting facts in her class (Actually, most of it are scary facts). And, Teacher Mazwin is the best Sivik teacher I've ever had. She makes the subject really interesting, despite the facts that she holds the record for teachers that give the most homework for the students :) One thing I don't like this year is my seat in my class. I don't know why I always got seats at the corner of the class. But other things just great. I'm happy where I am now.
I guess that's all for know, gotta finish my homework.
Bye, Assalamualaikum........
